Four colour print from drawings made on location under Blackfriars Bridge with an eye on the rising tide. I like the way the bridge forms a natural frame for the river traffic, St Paul’s and the cranes that now seem a permanent fixture of the London skyline as they move from one construction site to another. The black-headed gulls were also making the most of the hours of low tide.
The first edition of this print featured in The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition but quickly sold out. Due to demand I produced this second version, with different colours and revised elements.
