An etching made from a drawing made on one of several trips to Dungeness on the Kent Coast. The bleak and extensive shingle beach is populated by a vast and fascinating array of boats either in regular use or abandoned and gradually deteriorating. It is also strewn with winches that used to haul the boats out of the water. These are now mostly redundant – rusting relics of former industry. Discarded debris associated with boat maintenance sits amongst hardy and distinctive vegetation; it is always an inspiring location.
