Five colour print from drawings and observations made of the Thames Barrier. My studio looks out over the barrier, a wonderfully sculptural and iconic addition to the London landscape. The River Thames widens out particularly past this point, on it’s way out to the sea. There is still a great deal of river traffic, particularly during weekdays. Tugs are still relied upon to tow huge barges of cargo to and from larger container ships moored downstream through this modern gateway to central London. City Airport lies adjacent to this hosting increasingly frequent air traffic.
